Very very nicely done.

I'm also interested to know how you de-chrome the badges. I've been trying to find a way to do mine. Did you just paint over them?

Thanks.

Answer to some questions:

The truck is Monaco Blue

The Hella fog in the rear is wired to the right rear reverse light. We troubleshooted this several different ways. I intially tried to utilize a seperate on/off switch as well to turn it on at will but it kept throwing error codes. This current configuration works best with no errors.

As far as the dechroming, everything was done in a bodyshop. I purchased new grills and badges and had everything painted gloss blk to match the wheels. The rear roundel was removed from the tailgate, disassembled, painted and reassembled. Bit of a job but worth it. The rear bumper was removed to paint the exhaust and I also had the silver foil heat shield painted as well as to not stand out with all that black back there. All done with high temp paint and came out great.

As far as the running boards, I agree that they do stand out a bit more now but My wife really wanted them and to take them off, treat them, paint them and then put them back was very involved and no guarantee the paint would last through the years so here we are.

This X5 is your wife's or yours, it seen too testosterone-ish for a women.

How does it feel with the K&N air filter? any significant more power?

Good idea with the rear fog light for the rear camera.

The truck is my wifes. She wanted an angry looking vehicle and I simply obliged. She's not so into the soccer mom docile, plain jane look. Those are a dime a dozen in our town. Dont really know if theres much of a noticeable difference with the K&N's as i didnt drive it much before I dropped them in. It's just an automatic mod I do on every car

I was talking about the wife, but I'd have to say both!
