On another note, the cops are gonna give wifey one ol' hard time with that plate missing off the front here in NY...

Must be a KS thing but I completely understand. I feel the same about chrome.

I tinted the white part of the tail lights and the reflectors. I actually like the contrast between the red lenses and the dark colored car. I have the same treatment on my 550

I agree. Tried to rock a euro plate in the back and have my NY plate in the window. After being pulled over a couple of times and two parking tickets, I had to put the plate on the back.

Having your plate in the window just looks a bit trashy (looks like the car is falling apart and can't even hold the plates, imo).
Beacuse your vehicle is already a priemium eye catcher (a wow car!) the cops will notice it more and they will notice you don't have the state plate on the vehicle. Although the cops do seem to leave the old junker cars alone even when not having front and rear plate but just a paper copy of the plate on the windshield. I know people that got pulled over a couple of times because they didn't have the front plate on their premium vehicle, though it was on the windshield but I think that got the cops attention even more. |

Who said anything about having the plate in the window? The plate is inside the car. I have been driving like this in 3 different cars for years in NY and never had 1 issue. I realize its just luck but the facts are the facts. Its all about the cop that pulls you over. If they're cool, they'll let you get away with it as long as you have the plate with you. If they're in a bad mood, you're getting a ticket. Simple.

That is what I meant, the plate is inside the car window/windshield.
Some people never get pulled over for that and some do. It only takes one bad mood cop then your be sorry... But it is risk, it is a risk also that they may fine something else wrong they when pulled over (beer bottles in the back seats, smell like marijuana , forgot license/ownership in other pants, no seat belt on etc...)

He said he has the plate in the car, not in the window. I said I had it in my REAR window and it did not look tacky because there was an authentic german plate affixed to the back. The license plate was in the rear window but it was very much concealed by the rear window tint. So it was barely noticeable (which was why I was pulled over) and did not look like it was falling apart at all. In fact, if you look at the picture in my avatar, a plate was in the rear window then.
