They match the xenon perfectly. Also, I replaced the fog lights (H11) with the MTEC cosmos blue halogens. Perfect match all the way around. (same site just search for them) ps On a 1-5 difficulty scale, it was all a one. But I have small "carney hands". |

Jake I contemplated those City Vision but could never find good daytime pics of them. I asked the website for pics they sent me night pics, then I asked for daytime pics and they sent me pics of them when the weather was gloomy/overcast so of course they look bright in those conditions.
Do you have any pics on a normal sunny day that we could see? Thx. |

Sure. I'll work on it.
They are much brighter than GPs. GPs are great for color and nighttime, bad for daytime. But I don't think my CVs are as bright as some pics of the LUX I've seen. Personal preference here, I honestly like mine better as it looks like a "natural / oem" xenon color that would come on the car, those LUX are way too blue and too bright for me. Just my take, to each their own. I will work on the pics, but I live in OK and we just got what's left of hurricane Hermine so it will be overcast for a while here.

One other thing just FYI
From what I've read, the resistor has to go OUTSIDE the light housing for the LUX for heat concerns. Not so with the CVs. (less bright...less heat?)That was a deal breaker for me. With my luck, a drop of water would get in there and blow something up...
ps Epacy said the LUX were pure white, so I could be completely wrong on the color, that's just how the pics looked on my computer. CVs have a hint of blue like xenon. |

So jake on e70 you can fit the CV ballast INSIDE the light housing?!

Yup
I emailed the company before I did to make sure it wasn't a heat issue and they said it would be fine. There was plenty of room to lay it down right beside the angel eye lighting (long wires too were nice). I was worried either a. I couldn't close the housing lid with wires sticking out and b. water would get in. (With LUX)
I have had them in for two weeks now and have taken one side out and checked, no issues. I honestly think the LUX is brighter and thus there is a heat issue. It's a trade off. Mine is a 2011 if that makes a difference, it's my first BMW so I don't have a point of comparison on earlier models. |

Picture
I forgot I had taken a pic of them during install with my phone to show my girlfriend the difference. She didn't really care...
Obviously this is during the day, the right is the CV LED. |

A good thread I found showing comparison between new rings on a 335is, and a LUX LED v2 setup. Pretty impressive.

Thanks Jake those look good. Did you happen to take any pics of just the angel eye's / halo's on without the headlights in the daytime? That was kinda what i was looking for. If you don't have it no big deal but if you do I'd love to see. Thx.

Thanks Jake, I did the same as you did, and of course they look soo much cooler , but the problem is that the bulb light have a long distance travel to the holes where ring starts, and this make the rings less brighter. I will post a picture on it later.
Take care! |
