European LCI's are now being fitted with an LED based DRL system in place of the H8. Apparently not retrofittable according to my dealer. Additional LED hardware and separate control module.

Can't put them on the E71 yet either

Thumbs up LUX!

LUX all the way... You will be disapointed with any of the others, IMO.
I've tried the GPT, PIAA and City Vision, none of them are anywhere close to the LUX.

They are a great product, and there is a reason why they are more $$s!

LUX Installed - Good looking !!!

I got my 2011 X5 in Jan, DEC 2010 production, and it wasn't fitted with the Same LED Corona Rings, as the European vehicles. I was back in Europe over Xmas time and saw several X5 with the OEM LED rings ... Nice.
So, I decided to go with the LUX and, although different to the OEM ones, they are good looking, and well visible. No regret, at all. I do recommend as well.

Kloogy, did your dealer tell you this? Since 2011 was the LCI debut of the E70, why would BMW add LED Corona Rings to a model in March? This is very insulting to us 2011 E70 owners that are stuck with halogen Corona Rings. A big change like this, should be a model year change or LCI change...not a "March" change. While my GP Thunders looks MUCH better than the stock H8 bulbs, they look no where as good as LED rings. A neighbor has a 2011 335i and 2011 550i...and the LED rings are striking and very cool. I really want them!!!

Upset doesn't begin to describe how I feel. I found out because I asked when I was in for my free weekly wash. They confirmed that the new ones all have license plate LED's. He told me that March 2011 would bring the Corona LED Rings.

Epacy is an unknown quantity at this point
I surely hope this is not true or I'm gonna go ape sh!t. If you don't bring them in for the LCI update, why would you do it later? You end up f@cking over ALOT of people.
