want more music on the hard disk

I've upgraded my two Tivo HDs to 1TB and with the measly amount of space left for music on the X5 hard disk, I'd be interested in increasing the capacity of the BMW disk too. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this or know more info on why it is/isn't possible?

I would certainly keep around the original disk in case anything went wrong and of course it would void warranty which is why I would wait to do it.

While I'm on the topic of music on the disk, is there a precise list of supported file formats (size, codecs, etc) anywhere?

If you have USB/i-POD adapter option, you can connect your external USB hard drive to it... You would need to drag it around with you, but it is a solution.

So there are separate options to mount+copy vs. just mount over USB? I guess that's a more practical way to go without interfering with warranty.

Any info/pointer on formats supported?

Is there enough power from the 6FL USB to power a USB hard drive?

Maybe I'll try it, the 6FL is all but useless to me now.

Though, I'm wondering if by chance it actually does access the outside antenna on the X.

I wonder, because on those very, very few occasions that it decides to charge my iPhone I seem to get better phone reception. At least calls don't seem to drop in usual places when it it's plugged into the 6FL.

Problem is those times it does work are so few that I just don't use it all.
