Now that I look at it again carbon is not bad at all! Its more sporty but wood is more luxurious IMO.... Do you also have a different picture, perspective with wood trim ???

IMHO, what ever makes you happy is the right choice. Me, I'm a wood person.

Molecularly, carbon is the soul less "skeleton" of wood, so the two choices are more closely related than it would appear. Carbon is obviously superior for many applications within high performance automobiles, yachts, etc. , etc. Carbon is typically NOT a first choice in the "cozy" department, where psychological factors hold sway over pure engineering concerns. Whatever floats one's boat.

Carbon is definitely not a "cozy" option if that's what you're going for but I think it looks great with that Oyster color. I only got my wood color because it matched Saddle Brown pretty well and didn't look simply like an accent here and there - normally wouldn't go for that.

You applied this yourself? Well done! I personally really like the Dark Bamboo or Dark Poplar trim but it's subjective. I think I'll put this on my steering wheel when the plastic starts peeling.
