Side View Available for LCI?

Does anyone have an updated time frame when the side view cameras can be ordered on a 2011? My CA does not know and I have read anywhere between July-October...
Thank you!

It wont be available till October (according to their ordering guide). The new 5 series actually gets it in September.

Suppose it's for stiff neck arthritics...?

City driving where you're coming out of narrow alley with zero visibility on either side - helps you see pedestrians/cars by just peeking the nose out. If you're not driving in a large city, probably useless for you.

This feature has been available in Japan for a while on basic cars. I remember 4 years ago seeing that the Honda CR-V over there has about 6 cameras, including this feature (plus their navigation systems all talk to each other for advanced traffic rerouting).

Somebody over at Bimmerfest said the latest update from his dealer was production starting in the first week of August - so maybe a bit sooner than expected.

Even in suburbia with the tree-lined streets when you're coming out of a side street the tree trunks are usually in the way... happens to me every damn morning.

I don't think I can trust technology enough to take over though... doesn't it give like a fish-eye view that distorts distance? Can't remember.

It is really cool to just turn it on when your sitting at a light. Makes you feel like scarface sitting in front of security cameras I tend to heavily rely on my back up camera, usually just take a quick glance side to side then look at the screen instead of turning around.

Lemans-do we have any reason to believe the new lights will be coming before the 2012 model ? It would burn my ass if they came out a month after I upgraded.

I'd be very surprised if BMW would change the headlights halfway through a model year... am guessing it's just wishful thinking.
