Sorry to add to the revival of an old thread but had a quick question. I was looking at some oem LCI tail lights for my 2008 x5 from a BMW dealer and they state that these lights do not need coding. I asked them to make sure and they confirmed. Everywhere else I read says the lights need to be coded. Is it possible that I can install these with out having to code them?

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
JSPDR has a method that doesn't require coding it seems, but if you go by the book, it does need coding

MAK3N3 is on a distinguished road
I just installed LCI tail lights 2 weeks ago on my 08, they work as normal but I have the L/R tail lamp failure notice when turning on the car. I'll get it coded soon it's not really bothering me right now. Here's a side by side shot:
