Pre LCI Content: Hitch installed with aero kit

So I took about 5 hours this weekend installing the OEM kitch. I already had the aero kit installed, so I made some careful cuts and it came out looking great! Forgive the pics, they are from my iPhone

I mounted the wiring receptacle at the bottom, and I can easily reach behind to install the pin for the ball/tongue. I can finally pull my Four Winns H240 bowrider.

I also swapped out the upper and lower grille from the stock silver to black, to match the performance kidneys

Excellent, looks great! Very neat and tidy

How difficult was it to cut the rear trim? Did you use Dremel?

Do you have any photos of the harness/wiring?

Thanks

I used a small jigsaw cutting on the back of the aero kit. I didnt take any pictures of the harness, but after you take off the bumper cover, you need to disconnect your antenna for comfort access and attach it to the trailer harness. There are 4 connections that have to be made into the fuse box and 4 fuses that have to be inserted, as well as one plug for the vehicle bus.

Ok thanks! The hitch and harness have already been fitted on our X5, I just wanted to find out where did you put your harness? Did you relocate it underneath the bottom of the aero kit?

If you are talking about the plug for the trailer, I put it on the bottom of the aero kit.

Amazing result, if mine turns out half as good as yours I'll be happy
