Question New 2012 TPMs work on 2008 X5

I'm considering putting 2012 X6M wheels on my 2008 X5 4.8i (E70).

I posted a question in another thread about the whether the already bored rear 2012 X6M 300M wheels should be anything that I should worry about (no response yet) but I have another question.

Will the TPMs that come in the 2012 X6M wheels work on my 2008 X5 or will I need to purchase the TPMs for the 2008 model?

I do not think so. I believe they changed the system late 2010.

Thanks anyway.

The potential seller confirmed to me that he had to use the original TPMS sensors from his 2008 3.0si with these wheels.

You found someone to take off their 300m wheels? What's he using to replace them?

Actually, I've found a couple. It seems like X5M and X6M buyers do take them off and replace with others. The standard 300M's that those come with are 20" wheels.

The primary ones that I want wrap up the purchase for today are X6M 300M wheels; already bored out for X5; and 2008 TPMS sensors i.e. ready to install (when Spring arrives)

EDIT: I backed out of the deal above. Seller's communication was poor and something didn't seem right. Going to be looking for new OEM summer wheels in a month or two.
