Instrument Cluster Odometer Dot Came On

After getting my car serviced for a CEL, I noticed a dot after the kilometer reading (picture attached). They did change the iDrive Knob and did a complete programming. Is this the odometer tamper dot?

Could be a software update "feature" perhaps? I'm interested too.

What does the service invoice say they did to resolve the CEL?

It sounds like they replaced one of the modules where the mileage is stored and did not program it with the correct mileage...

The CEL was on due to intercooler plausibility and temperature sensor problem. The dot was only coming on when I used the key which was not given to the dealer at the time of service. The dot BTW has gone away now.
