Australian members with LUX H8 V3 Angel Eyes?

Hey guys,

Are there any members on here from Australia with BMW X5 E70's pre-LCI with Lux H8 V3 LED Angel Eyes? Currently debating with my friend about whether the Australian delivered X5's from the factory came with H8 Angel Eye globes. He believe they didn't whereas I believe they did.

SOMEONE PLEASE CONFIRM THIS FOR ME SO I CAN PROCESS MY ORDER OF LUX H8 V3 LED Angel Eyes????

Cheers!

Does your friend E70 has factory xenon or halogen headlights? My understanding is LUX H8 won't fit normal halogen headlights.

You mean mine? Yes, my E70 X5 has xenon headlights. Sounds like you got a really nice X5 there? Have you got any photos by any chance mate?

Nice, it should work then.

Haven't taken any photos recently but here is a quick pic

I'm also looking at purchasing some BMW Performance gloss black grilles. Where did you get your ///M footrest, sports pedals and LCI tail lights from? Have you got a rear shot man?

Mines the exact same colour as yours. Any reason why you went with the Titanium grilles and not the gloss black ones?

I would assume the DTUK CRD-T is an engine tune? More info please

I did look at getting the V8 tailpipes, however I decided on the chrome E70 polished tips that look just as good.

I would love to see your car in the flesh champ.

I bought some of the stuff on ebay and Schmiedmann. I prefer the titanium grilles as it looks classier than all black murdered out.

DTUK CRD-T is a diesel tuning box similar to JB4, here is the link

DTUK® CRD2+® Multimap Power System | chip tuning boxes from Diesel Tuning UK

This photo was taken prior to our ski trip late last year.

Do you have any photos of your X5?

You still wouldn't happened to have the ebay links of the stuff you bought? I'm really liking the way you have dressed up your X5 honestly I'm impressed. That's the dillemma I was having at first on whether to go with a murdered/stealth look or a more classier/ finer look. I might buy both the Titanium and Gloss black grilles and see what I think right???

Would you mind giving me a bit of feedback on the tune man? Haven't thought about a tune - Is there much of a power increase? Is it noticeable WOT or down low?

I want to get the Aero Kit but am not sure where the best place to get one is at the best price because I still need to get it painted. Did you buy yours with the Aero kit already fitted? Makes a massive difference to the aesthetics and proportions of the car in my opinion.

I'll take some pics of mine over the weekend after I perform yet another detail on it - Yes I'm very anal and fussy with my cars

I seriously want to see more pics of your X5 including the interior with the added accessories I hope you don't mind. Any reason why you haven't upgraded your angel eyes to the LED ones? I can give you my contact in Sydney for the Lux or BMR Angel Eyes and you will be blown away by the difference they make.

Massive soft spot for the way you have jazzed it up perfectly. I have been looking at the LCI tails - Where did you buy yours? I heard it's all plug n play is that right?

Where do I get an xoutpost sticker from?

Thanks for the kind words.

Here is the ebay link, he is pretty reliable and provides fast shipping

Keshav BMW items - Get great deals on items on eBay Stores!

Yes, definitely notice the difference with the DTUK diesel tuning box - The acceleration is a lot linear and wider, the engine itself kicks in once I've revved past 3000rpm, there are 4 different maps with 1, 2, 3 and 4 boost. I'm loving it.

The aero kits weren't cheap, I bought it from overseas, got them fitted and painted locally at O'Brien in Caringbah.

I don't have xenon headlights, so stuck with the stock yellow Angel eyes for now. My next mod is a Msport steering wheel, I prefer the thicker and smaller rim over the stock one. If you are interested, maybe we could organise a group buy.

I've ordered the LCI tailights from Schiedmann as it was the cheapest Euro-spec set I could find on the internet. It is a simple plug and play, but you'll need to code it to get rid of the OBC errors. Happy to help you out.

I still have some xoutpost stickers left, PM your details and I will post them out to you.

Here is the thread about the ///Mfootrest and sport pedals.

Cheers mate

Thank you so much for the quick and concise reply, you have been so helpful to me with my search to purchase a few upgrades. I am considering the new generation X5, but from what I have seen so far from some "actual" pictures the look is something that is not to be desired.

What parts did you buy in particular from the eBay seller? It says she ships throughout the US only so I would assume you would have to request first if he will ship to Australia?

How much did the tune cost delivered? Did you set it up yourself - is it a straightforward procedure? I wouldn't mind a tune to be honest

Whereabouts did you get the Aero kit from overseas? Makes a huge difference it kind of reminds me of a "beefeed' up X5M. Mines got the sports pack like yours and I tend to agree that the M-sports steering is much nicer to touch as well as suits the interior so well. Yes, I wouldn't mind a group buy because I heard someone on e90post is keen to purchase one.

Love the difference the tail lights make - big thumbs up for them in my opinion.

I will PM you now about a xoutpost sticker because I am more than happy to rock one and show some support for the X5 community.

Thanks!

My wife wants a X6 LCI 5 seaters, so we are thinking to sell our X5 at the end of this year. I've been thinking about the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 too.

I note that you are have a twin diesel-turbo, how do you like it so far? DTUK tune is definitely worth it, the installation itself is pretty straightforward, takes 10-15 minutes and is completely reversible and undetectable, so doesn't really void the warranty when you are taking your car for servicing at the dealer. I've managed to get some discount from Andrew (he is the owner of DTUK), he will look after you if you are interested in buying one.

I bought the aero kits, pedals, footrest, exhaust tips and the ///M sills from Kevsha. He shipped stuff to Australia via Fedex with tracking number, pretty efficient and reliable.

Sounds good re group buy for the M steering wheel. I've also bought some rubber mats from the dealer, heavy items like battery, mats - you better off to buy it locally.

Should organise a X5 meet one day!
