Aftermarket exhaust pictures

Well I have a 2007 4.8i and would like to get rid of that oil drum for a exhaust in back, it must way 100lbs! Not going for a expensive full exhaust, but either just deleting it and running pipe right to tips, or on tube slot of people do a flow master setup with a certain part number mufflers or muffler I think, it sounds decent but never seen actual pictures of instal or mounting points. I know it's custom but would like to get a ideal of how it looks under there, and maybe what part number muffler they used. Any suggestions would be great. I did hear a Billy Boat exhaust on a e53 and by far the best sounding exhaust made for it and half the price of these German made ones. But they don't make anything for e70. But just going cheap with a flow master. Any one here just the muffler delete done? To much? Or sound like you have a hole in your exhaust. Have two kids in back and just want a little more rumble without any drone. Let me know or pictures, thanks

Any other advice for performance? This thing is slow compared to my 2002 x5 4.6is. I know buy a M or 5.0, but picked up this 07 4.8 with 40k with every available option with third seat, for 23k. So got a great deal.

you seem like you are very unpleased with your purchase or at least thats the impression am getting. is pretty normal i guess for the E70 to feel bigger and maybe not as nimble as the E53 since in size the E53 is more equivalent to the X3.

performance...well yes the E53 is a little quicker of the line but not by much and when you say Slow? Hmmm, I dunno know, I still haven't come across a 4.6 or 4.8is that can out run me or outperform me.

For the exhaust, yes it weights almost 100lbs , i personally have the muffler delete and i love it! loud when it needs to be and quite enough for the family.

good luck hope you enjoy your new X

What exactly does a muffler delete consist of? I just got an 07 4.8i. I really miss the sound of my e36 M3. Is it just straight pipes? Will it Pass emissions in PA? Will it throw any codes.

Muffler delete is just getting rid of your stock mufflers and putting straight pipes. There shouldn't be a problem with your emissions and no error codes. I got mine done a couple months ago after hearing 1naztyx5 youtube videos and I loved the sound.

I've had a lot of compliments from people. Many of them say it sounds similar to a C63 AMG but much louder.

Do you have any pics of what your setup looks like under the car? I was watching you tube vids this afternoon of straight piped x5's they sound awesome. I think I very well may go this route as I really don't want to spend 2k+ for just a sound. Are there any other options besides flowmasters or eisanmann for the e70 4.8i?
