New here
I currently a 2004 530i which is my daily driver. Being that I own and operate a mobile detailing company, I keep it nice and shiny so much that most people can't believe its an 04 E60. Great car but need to step up to a SUV. I diy a lot and my car has only been to a mechanic only once since I bought it used. I have the M54 engine and I'm very familiar with that and how to do most preventative and repairs on it. Runs like a champ at 98k miles. I'm searching for an X5 now and trying to decide between an 07-08 E70 or a 2005-6 E53. The E53 3.0i because its familiar engine in the M54 and E70 because I like the styling but will need to learn the newer engine(N52?). Anyway, glad to be here and have been searching and reading a lot already. |

hello and welcome! My vote would be for an E70, but I'm kinda partial to it.

New here
I'm in! Generally in good condition, drives and shifts great but has a few issues to address. First mechanical then I'll do some cosmetic repairs and upgrades. For mechanical I have valve cover gasket leak. Just purchased the gasket together with new air filters for engine and cabin and a whole new wiper blade set front and rear. Got the oil filter housing gasket incase I run into that as well when checking things out. I plan to wrap interior trims in carbon fiber, add tint. New brake discs with ceramic pads, paint wheels black. Calipers are already red but show some age wear on the red coating. Steering wheel is a bit worn so I may replace that down the road. Front and rear bumper have some scuff marks. They bug me so I may get new ones and paint them like the existing ones. Touch up rock chips then give it a full paint correcting detail polish on the exterior. Full interior detail as well.

Talk about monochromatic.... looks like someone painted everything. Well, except the wheels and lights!
Congrats. Enjoy the journey. |
