ATF drain and fill, fluids from e53?

Sold the 4.8iS and replaced it with an e70 35d some time back. I am starting to think it is time to do a drain and fill on the transmission. I still have fluids which were intended for the 6-speed ZF in the 4.8iS and also the transfer case fluid.

I have yet to crawl under the car and check but as far as I can tell from RealOEM, the ATF in the 35d (6-speed AT) is the same and I can use the ATF that I have. The fluid for the transfer case seems to be different which would make sense as the e53 had an ATC500 and the 35d has an ATC700 according to RealOEM.

Anyone here have any views on my conclusions or experience with drain and flush on a 35d and can share part numbers?

Just type in "transmission drain and flush", or fluid
or any combination thereof. There has to be at least
1000 transmission threads that will be available for you.

Start here:
The CTSC - ZF Parts

look up both cars, see if the same ATF is spec'd

Or here: http://www.thectsc.com/products/zf-l...er-184-58.html is it lifeguard 6 for both?

Or wiki both cars and find the ZF wiki for each trans.

Edit: These guys have the best price on ATF Ive seen..under $20 per liter

Thanks ARD. This will help.

QAg, I was just trying to confirm what I had found thus far.

There should be a sticker under the pan that tells me what is in there but my wife doesn't give me much chance, she is on the road with it a lot :-)
