LeMans,
Looks very good to me. I plan on getting a 2015.

Hmm I hope the images are fooling me. I think the front looks a bit "weak", or is it just me?

Looks just like a scaled up X3...

"Engine options are as below per Autobild.
30d - 258 PS/560 Nm
40d - 313 PS/630 Nm
35i - 306 ps/400 Nm
50i - 450 PS/650 Nm"

Using 0.99 and 0.74 conversion factors for PS to HP and Nm to Lb-Ft, respectively, the available engines will produce the following numbers in HP/Lb-Ft:

30d - 255 / 414
40d - 310 / 466
35i - 303 / 296
50i - 446 / 481

Last I heard, the only diesel we're getting here in the US is the 30d. Anyone knows if that's still the case?

Essentially the same diesel engine as what we have in the outgoing US model.

Will the diesel come with new transmission? I could see some MPG benefits with an extra gear or two in the high range (highway speeds), but would not want to change anything in the low range (extra shift points might make it worse IMHO).

Looks like a base model. The front doesn't look bad but I am sure a more sportier/aggressive look will be offered with the sports package? The rear looks like crap . . . At least from the photo - looks like a half ars X3.

The design is not so bad - it typically grows on us as time goes by (if history of any lesson). I wonder how it would look like with running boards, I suspect boards will create some kind of imbalance due to much flatter side walls.

The ones listed in my post are European diesel engine options. US gets different diesel engine.

No they are there. We just don't see them.

Tailgate is still split.
Trunk /cargo hold has new 3-series Touring feature, trunk floor cover disappears when not in use in the cargo hold floor

What about blind spot detection (like on the new 3-series) ?

And can it be confirmed if it will have (or not) electric-assist steering (vs. hydraulic on the outgoing E70) ?
