This is German press release, No diesel X6s are on plans of BMWNA at the moment.

English translation for X6 part of press release. The only thing coming to US will be the N55 inline six engine.

Thanks! I understand that diesel X6's are not going to be available in the US. I am interested in the N55 (single turbo) and the 8 speed transmission though. I am assuming both of those will make it into US X6's. The press release says Spring time ... so does that mean there will just be a break in 2010 X6 production for the introduction of the N55 and 8 speed transmission? Or will the changes be the start of the 2011 model year?

Thank you for the additional information! 2010 is a short year for a large percentage of BMW's range ...

I am assuming the 8 speed transmission is also standard across the X6 (and X5) range for the 2011 model year?

I am very excited about this! I have been waiting over 6 months for this, so now i can finally order my car!

What is nice -

1. More horsepower
2. 10% better fuel efficiency !! According to official numbers it is even better than my current 535d! But I wont hold my breathe!

3. And the new Active Cruise Control with STOP and GO is just absolutely great!! Which means that if u have set your cruise control to 120, and u hit traffic, the car will not just stop, but will drive by itself again as the traffic clears up! Very nice!
