Question X3 - Sirius Radio Self-Installation

Has anyone self-installed a Sirius radio package from BMW? I have a pre-wired 2006 X3. The dealer told me it would cost $910 plus tax to install the Sirius package. I can buy the necessary parts for under $500 (the e83 package from Circle BMW - http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/sirius/sirius-e83.htm) and was thinking of self-installing.

Is it difficult? Any tips? I am moderately handy.

Thanks

do you have navigation installed? if not, there are instructions on the x3world home page - see the last link in the Stereo section: http://www.x3world.com/

Has anyone heard of problems for 2007 X3 self-installation? I am in the process of getting one.

The install is ridiculously easy. the mounting bracket and the antenna are already preinstalled on the NAV-specific models.

We carry the Sirius kits in stock also, and provide full support if needed:

Question

Thanks. BMW is giving me a new 2007 to replace my 2006 because of a vehicle defect. Is it same Sirius equipment for 2007 as 2006? I do not have navigation in either vehicle.

We offer those seperate also - and at much less than what BMW charges for their "install kit".

Give me a ring and I'll get you set up.
