no, as there is no adapter for BB 8820...however, I believe that the same principle described by the topic starter can be applied to BB 83xx adapter to fit older cars with narrow eject box

Craig- Just wanted to update this post a bit, hopefully to make it clearer.
In addition I have some specific questions (bold red) so if anyone has answers to them, please let me know. For the E53 X5 and the E70 X5: - Eject Box (aka "System Base Plate") current p/n: 84-10-9-168-940 Retail $101.57 (All the other p/n's (including -063, -415) have been superseded with this one) - Snap-In Adapter Apple iPhone 1G: 84-10-9-182-792 $135.97 Retail - Snap-In Adapter Apple iPhone 3G/3GS: 84-21-2-151-038 has been superseded with 84-21-2-158-682 Retail $152.94 Now, according to the chart I posted on this thread: http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...full-list.html The E53 X5 requires these two parts for either of the two iPhone snap-in adapters: Eject Box Frame: 84-21-2-153-098 $99.65 Retail Adapter Cable: 84-10-9-205-271 $10.20 Retail So I assume that eject box 84-21-2-153-098 is to be used in place of eject box 84-10-9-168-940 when using a iPhone snap-in adapter and this makes sense since the 84-10-9-168-940 eject box has side walls and thus is much narrower than the 84-21-2-153-098 eject box that has no side walls on it and can accommodate the iPhone snap-in adapters properly. Other than the actual size difference of the two eject boxes (84-10-9-168-940 & 84-21-2-153-098) I don't know if there is a functional difference electronically. If anyone knows let me know. Now, apparently there are newer iPhone "USB" adapters for E70 X5's made after 10/2008 (2009 model year) that not only allow for telephone functionality, but also for music playback from the iPhones: - Snap-In Adapter Apple iPhone 1G: 84-10-9-164-213 $195.02 Retail - Snap-In Adapter Apple iPhone 3G/3GS: 84-21-2-151-043 has been superseded with 84-21-2-158-683 Retail $ 220.92 - And a snap-in adapter for the Apple Touch: 84-21-2-162-534 Retail $203.94 I have no idea if any of these three will work or can be modified to work on an E53 X5, any clue? This post is a work-in-progress and I will try to attach as many pictures as I can to it. So far I have found pictures for -038, -043, -098, -271, -415, -682, -792, -940. I still need photos of -213, -534, -683. If you have any additional information or photos or better photos that you would like to add please let me know. I have some final questions that hopefully someone can answer: 1. I know the 84-21-0-415-023 (Motorola RAZR V3, V3i) snap-in adapter can be custom modified to fit a 84-21-6-933-415 eject box. Will a modified 84-21-0-415-023 also fit the 84-10-9-168-940 eject box? 2. Will the 84-21-0-415-023 snap-in adapter fit the 84-21-2-153-098 eject box? 3. Does anyone have photos of the 84-21-0-442-784 (Motorola V8, V9m) snap-in adapter? 4. Does anyone have photos of the 84-21-0-442-785 (Motorola V9) snap-in adapter? Quote:

Hey - You said you installed the -043 snap in adapter in your E53 X5 with no problem. Can you post some photos of it? Also what eject box did you use and did you need to also install an adapter cable?
