OEM BMW eject box frame for iPhone on E53 now available

I didn't see this posted anywhere on the forum. See attachments for BMW documentation.

84 21 2 222 122 EJECT BOX FRAME - $?? list
84 10 9 205 271 ADAPTER CABLE - $20 list
84 21 2 199 389 BASIC SNAP-IN ADAPTER FOR IPHONE4 - $120 list

Perhaps someone could try to order these parts, fit them on their E53 and give feedback?

Hey Guys - Really keen to do this, but want to know if it will work for the Facelift e53? - 2006 4.8is (already has a snap in cradle for the old school nokia)

If i purchase all three parts: eject box frame, snap in connector (media one) and the adapter cable - will it all fit straight in, or require mods?

Will this use the car aerial for the iphone 4s? - will I be able to play video's on the head unit? - if so, how does this work? - does an additional input come up on the nav screen?

I don't want to outlay a fair wack of money for this to not work.. - Also i don't think it makes a difference, but I'm in Aus

Do you have to have NAV for this?

Although my X5 is an '01, I upgraded to a 2004 stereo a year ago and have the Auxillary input now. With the cable to the output plus the charge in the lighter, it creates quite a mess.

I do NOT have the navigation system, just the basic Business stereo.

Any chance this will work with my stereo?

I don't have any experience in this, but it shouldn't require any mods.

It should use the car aerial if one is fitted. In North America our aerials were used by the BMW Assist module for some model years and you were expected to fit a hidden bumper antenna.
The media one should support a Video Out, but I'm not sure of the format; CVBS composite video or LVDS. Your factory Nav head unit does not have an aux video input. That would require the switchbox which is used for front or rear camera inputs.

Thanks mate - I've since spoken to the dealer (1.5hr drive) and he has said that they have a straight swap snap in connector, and that even the early model e70's had issues with integration into the nav unit.. I've just put it off at this stage - will just use my iphone charger - at least I don't have to take the case off for that!
