Well yesterday BMW Dealer called and said that problem is with my Antena, today BMW Dealer called and said that new Antena didn't fix the problem. They don't know what's going on, they tried a different Nav Unit from a different car that is what he told me and it worked for 2 minutes and went blank. Said they are with BMW on the phone trying to figure out the problem. I'll keep you guys updated.

Looking forward to what the fix is going to be. I have an MK4 nav that I am trying to get to work since its stuck thinking its back in germany where it came from. Its a retrofit in my car here in the US, but it has trouble finding and keeping in contact with satellites and downloading the almanac etc..

Good Luck

I think he meant that it might be the Trimble unit thats bad..not the Nav computer or the antenna. The GPS antenna connects to the trimble which then connects to the nav computer..

Any updates on this issue? I have had this intermitted "issue" for over a year.

It will work fine for weeks and then for a couple days not aquire the sats and have the same data errors. I replacement my antenna to no availe.

I have on 04 325ci that's out of warranty and CPO doesn't cover it, so I am on my own!

I am wondering if I should try and replace the Trimble unit inside the DVD drive. I have opened it up and reseated everything.

My Update:

I changed the Trimble module Lassen 44525-40 from one on ebay and I am back in business. The module caught 8 satellites within 3 minutes and located the position of the car.

I guess its worth a try. You can find a module on ebay for 40bucks or so and swap it yourself. Its quite an easy and simple DIY!

Good Luck!
