OK - I finally have it straight - for the MK3, if you don't have the key CD, then it will load no higher than V17 (3-1/30) - you need the key CD and V22 (or up to V32) to get to 3-1/63 - I maybe slow, but I do get there - cd on order

Did not work!

I downloaded v.32 from the link in this thread, but i did not work in my MK.II v.16.
I followed these steps and burned the image with Nero (lowest speed-4x):
1. Put the ignition in position 1.
2. Ejected the navigation cd
3. Put the version 32 cd in, and waited until it ejected automatically.
4. Put the navigation cd back in the drive.

But it still says 2-1/60.

Why? Can anyone help me please?

I think I have SW4-1/70 (which includes perspective mode btw). Does anyone know what changes were introduced to bring SW to 1/100?

Since updating my MKIV unit with version 31 my TMC function is no longer working. The graphic still lights up green but it will not deliver me any messages. I have checked that the RDS and TP functions are selected in the radio menu. If I switch off the TMC function in the Nav menu and then switch it back on it just says, searching for messages but then fails to proceed any further.

I've been trying for days now to fix this problem but am well and truly stuck.

Try rebooting the car (battery disconnect, wait 10min, reconnect)

Otherwise:
1. checking coding of nav eg with NavCoder
2. check TMC messages exist using NavCoder
3. pray

Never mind, I did the update and all went well but I would still appreciate it if someone could tell me what changes were done since 4-1/70?

Hi,
I've an MKIV with a radio navigation (monochrome) like here http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/2252/navz41xx.jpg
Can I use this firmware, too, in order to use the new double layer map dvds?
thanks in advance,
Capsad

I would think so because Ver. 31 says it changes both Rad. and Top(color) to 10.0. 4-1/100 and 4-2/100.

Hey guys, I'm new to this and I'm a little confused. I have a MK IV unit so is it OK to load V32? Or do I have to load V31 since it is the one with changes for MK IV? Also, since the MK IV is DVD based, do I have to burn the image file on to a DVD or can I burn it on a CD? If burning on either is fine, which one is more preferable, DVD or CD?

Sorry for the n00b questions and TIA.
