Based on his integrity, is it possible a non-BMW dealership could actually do a good four wheel alignment?:dunno: He does have the latest and greatest of equipment, so...

The same guy did a C5 Corvette for me and it was absolutely perfect.

We have a 2010 X35d with heated comfort seats. The seat heat distribution is iDrive adjustable. However, it seems to be impossible to have heat only on the seat back and not on the seat bottom although the iDrive graphic indicates this. SA says this is normal. Would someone please verify this....

I've been shopping around for for some 21's for couple weeks and would like to put them on still before winter, then switch back to 19".
I have a really good deal on OEM style 300 rims with tires: $1,200
They were on my list, but not #1, also they are 20" and I wanted 21".
So I'm debating if I should get them as they are only 3 weeks old, perfect condition, only $1200. Or should I wait and for sure pay more for 21", I might even have to go with replicas.
The 300 do look good on 2009, 4.8 - Black Saphire, with running boards and aero kit, that's what I have.
Any advices?
Thanks all!!

hi has anyone had a sports seat apart,

my 2005 x5 sports drivers seat, thigh support (outer ) seems to be broken.

its as if there is a tubular metal piece that gives it its shape and support and it seems to be broken, if i grab the seat squab, or edge and move it there is a clicking sound like two pieces meeting and then separating.

so i wondered how hard it would be to A: get the seat out and B: remove the leather trim to allow access to the seat frame, and maybe repair it

oh my seats are electric with memory on the drivers side and the under thigh cushion that is extendable.

i,m sorry my description is probably not the best, but the bit that is broken is the side squab that is up raised and cops a hammering every time you get in and out

thanks

Yesterday morning when I started the car and buckled up the "fasten seat belt" warning continued on and the chime kept going off for about 5 minutes. Then no more chime or msg on cluster, but the seat belt sign on dash continued on. The steering wheel controls are not working while all this is happening. The car continued doing this today as well every time I start it. Then, on top of that, this evening, the headlights started flickering all the way from home to the movie theater and on the way home, and the interior lights came on and stayed on all the way home.
Anyone has any idea:dunno: what could be causing all this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I left and 30 seconds later i realized the squeek was still there and made a u,ee and talked to the gm and he said sorry ill take care of it. i get the call a day later suppossedly it was the passenger side control arm which cost $1,031 bucks... i stated just fix the problem please.....i picked up the car after two more days and then i left after being furious from the first misdiagnose.... and i thought i heard something but said to myself its a figment of my imagination but low and behold when i arrived home i went to my lake which has speed bumps and there it was again........holy fwqopeuroqpweurq i am now a mellow dude but just do me right...i called the gm and let it rip,,,,,said hope you are ready for a hurricane cause all i asked for was to get rid of a simple squeek and never asked for a price and you couldnet even do that now you made me spend and wait for five days without my baby and its done what now? all he did was apologize but F that I say never go to Bridgeport, Ct. BMW they know shit and simple at that a back yard mechnic could fix it...question is how far is it worth me going with this on this stealer?

Folks,

Some of you may recall awhile back I was having some vibration problems.

I still am. I've been to a couple shops, and umpteen trips to the dealer. No one seems to be able to diagnose exactly where this vibration is coming from.

I"ve got decent, good mechanics here - both at the dealer, and at independent shops.

I"m looking for the *best* guy though. Willing to travel...I just want the car fixed.

So... if you know that incredibly anal, extremely smart, slightly (or very) odd mechanic who has his own shop, and particularly likes challenges, I'd like to get their name and number and have a chat - and potentially drive up to see them.

I'm not looking for a run of the mill place - I'm looking for those *exceptional* folks, who can take a roll of steel and a roll of copper and make a car, an engine harness, design a driveshaft out of cardboard, and make it all work...

There are a couple of these folks in the "volvo-land" that I play with, but I don't know a guru like this for BMW.

Thanks!
