If you are only supposed to fill the passive tank then why are there two filler tubes? One for passive and one for active.

Got about 95k miles on my X diesel now. The price of the replacement tank assembly is ridiculous. Curious if anyone thinks I could get BMW to replace my tank/sensor combo at no cost. Worth a shot to...
