Custom BEZEL pimped around today.

There was an earlier thread today with a posting from a guy name Rich who had pictures of a custom made Bezel to work with either the carputer or Pioneers AVIC-D1 double din. He was looking for test fits...what happened to the thread? Does anyone here remember seeing it? I went into the forums and it is not there....strange.

It look like a very nice solution for the 4 inch opening problem.

Bezel

Thanks man....I was beginning to think it was a scam. Anyone know if those after market set ups will run the steering controls. I am in middle of purchasing a M3 wheel and while that is a great mod I really don't want to lose the volume control on the wheel.

UCrewX5 has disabled reputation
Most aftermarket systems will cause you to lose that ability to use the steering wheel controls (volume or track/station). Additionally, if you replace the OEM radio unit then you will also lose the ability to change the On Board Computer functions such as the date, time, etc.

There are certainly some cool aftermarket systems, but there are sacrifices.

You can regain the use of the steering wheel controls on almost any car and almost any aftermarket radio using the PAC SWI-X.

Everyone should check with their installers first before jumping into it.
I know the E46 takes some work to install a double-din and I'm sure the X5 is no different since they use the same OEM NAV unit. However it is possible.

Talking I agree

My installer says no problem as long as your BEZEL fits.
