icelink engine noise

i have an 01 X5 with DSP and just tried to install the icelink. I am getting the 12v power supply from the DSP amp. I have been getting a lot of engine noise when the using the IPOD. Can someone please let me know what i might be doing wrong? Thanks.

Try posting this in the car audio forum. I don't have DSP, but I think you need to use an external D-to-A converter and it sounds like a poor ground to me. Assuming the external DA converter needs power, I'd recheck the ground on it.

You can get supressors from your local garage, these often supress the engine ignition and running noise., It`s like a capacitor you put in line with the icelink's +12v supply. I dont know if it will help, but it wont hurt and they are made for normal car radios for this problem.

Try the fix posted by Wuzin before going the supressor route. It has cured most of these types of problems and is easy to perform.

Not sure where I saw it but there is a fix with the IceLink cables by swapping two of the colors around on one of the connectors to provide a better ground, if I find it I'll post the link.
