X5 strut bar

Guys...check out this strut bar I found on Ebay...only $245?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-06...spagenameZWDVW

Does that look legit? The seller claimed that there's absolutely no modification (to the washer reservoir) needed to install the bar. Looking at the pictures, I DON'T see how this is possible. Opinions?

Contact them about possibly doing a group buy for X5world at a $200 price point

Sure thing...let me see what I can find out from the seller. What worries me most is the "all sales are final" comment. I certainly don't want to be held responsible if the "fitment" issue isn't as promised.

Here's another bar from the same seller => http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-06...QQcmdZViewItem

From this picture, I'm almost certain that it won't clear the reservoir. To even have a chance, the bar needs to be where the red arrow of the attached picture (assuming that goes on the passenger side)...don't you think?

i would have to agree that it doesn't look like it will work with the washer fluid resevoir still installed.

does he have any pics of it installed on an x5?

That's a good point. I'll have to ask him about it. All he said was that it's gonna fit with NO modification.

Strengthen up the front strut towers by tying them together...resulting in less chasis flex.

Have you seen this post? => http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...mods-pics.html

Question

Has anyone here fitted the strut bar from Dinan and know for sure that it fits araound the reservoir?

I keep looking at the photos (including the red X5 in the link above) and then looking under my hood and it certainly looks tight! Since my 4.8is is brand new, I don't want to have to mess around with a bad fit.

Thanks,

John
