Why you should get an '04 or newer - Panoramic roof

If you are deciding between buying an '03 or '04 model...this will help you decide. I'm not into sunroofs but when I saw the panoramic roofs of the facelifted models I bought it on the spot:

I had my X5 in for its 90K mile service yesterday and they gave me an '06 X3 to drive for the day and it had a pano roof - man that thing was huge!! Only thing I did not like about it was that it was quite noisy at highway speeds. Is the X5's that way??

It can open either just uncover the front seats or open all the way to the back..if fully open it does tend to make alot of wind vibrations at high speeds...I usually only open the roof to the first position.

If you open the back windows a couple of inches while the roof is open all the way, the noise and buffeting goes away. Works well - give it a try!

yea the pano roof is definatly the way to go! My 06 3.0i has it and everyone who rides in my X5 is impressed with the sunroof. I just only wish it went back the whole way.

Anyone who rides in the X3 loves and comments about the panaroma moonroof. I admit, it makes the car very spacious combined with the gray leather.

More reasons to get the 04+.

Different engine, more HP
6 speed tranny
adaptave bi-xenon lights
new front end

Pano roof is great plus the above, it's a no brainer
