Going to the X5 clinic for a checkup.
#1 Front shimmy when applying brakes ( freeway speeds)

#2 Rough running especially with (Air conditioning and stopped in gear)
I noticed and the wife noticed. (Previous complaint.)

#3 Hesitation upon quick acceleration. ( Seems sluggish)

#4 Wheel defect.

#5 Navigation software upgrade. (What upgrade is now avaliable?)
I believe the last one was Ver # 26

#6 Any recalls or other issues?

Potential Number Of Units Affected : 165
Summary:
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE ATTACHMENT OF THE BRAKE LINE SUPPORT BRACKET WITHIN THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL WELL WAS NOT WELDED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS. IT COULD LOOSEN AND OVER TIME THE BRAKE HOSE COULD RUB AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL.
Consequence:
THE FRONT LEFT BRAKE HOSE COULD BECOME DAMAGED TO THE POINT WHERE A LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID COULD OCCUR INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL RE-ATTACH THE BRAKE LINE SUPPORT BRACKET TO THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL WELL FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BMW AT 1-800-831-1117.

Summary:
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PARKING PAWL GUIDE PLATE.
Consequence:
THIS COULD CAUSE THE PARKING LOCK SYSTEM NOT TO ENGAGE, AFTER THE TRANSMISSION IS PLACED IN THE PARK ("P") POSITION. IF THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, AND THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED, THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE ROLLAWAY CONDITION.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPAIR AND REPLACE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GUIDE PLATE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 30, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BMW AT 1-800-332-4269.

Hesitation. Did you get the tranny upgrade, v.22? Check MAS.

Taking mine in today for same hesitation c/o and up grade. Maybe I'll got more info. Had 70% improvement using Techron gas also. Suspect torque control has a lot to do with it.

Quicksilver, took in my 06', 4.4 for the upgrade today. I spoke with him and he rec.
you also get the v.23 upgrade. There was a lot of problems with v.22. This should help with hesitation.

Is your dealer doing the Nav upgrade or are they requiring you to buy it and do it yourself. I took mine in yesterday and they would not update and didn't have the upgrade in stock giving me a phone number to call!

If your asking me, i'll know once i call them for the appointment. It's my guess i will have to tell em to have it on hand before i get there.

I got told yesterday there is a new nav upgrade coming uot in two weeks and to wait.
