Pics of some mods I've done recently. Catch-All Mats, Gauge Rings, First Aid Box.more

Here are some pics of a few things I have installed over the last month. Just thought I'd share. Links at bottom for enlarged pics. Also don't mind the dirty X.
First up the Catch All Mats. These are expensive but well worth it. They have a lip around all the edges to keep water/snow/dirt from getting on the carpets. Cleaning is simple just hose them off. Plus they fit like OEM. I tried to show the fitment and lip.

Here is the Gauge Rings installed. I know it's a common upgrade but now I know why. Looks great in person!

First Aid Kit. My impression is that It's very small, very small! But nice to have the extra storage.

OK here is the Ipod/Cell Phone/etc.. Mount. I really like how it looks almost OEM. It's curved to match the dash and console. Mounts wiyh no screws. Fits under the shifter trim and console trim and is hollow to hide the wires. I added to elastic bands instead of the bulky plastic cradles.

And Finally the worthless Exhaust trim. Once it's painted you won't even see it. Priceless

Nice job. A few questions/comments:

- How difficult was it to install the gauge rings? Did you have to break any seals or anything else on the instrument cluster that might affect its resellability?

- The 1st aid kit box is nice, but honestly you should have the contents in it as you'll never know when they'll come in handy. The German contents are quite complete I have to say. You can always mount a 2nd box to keep empty under the driver's seat (same holes exist for the mounting).

gauge rings are a "simple" install. you do have to break a warranty seal to take it apart, but if you have a dead pixel problem, BMW will still replace it.

Tips are normal size.
Rings are very simple to install. Had mine done in 5-10 minutes.
Yea I need to fill it up with some supplies. Maybe some tire shine or Band Aids but I'm not sure which is more important.

Regarding guage rings and warranty. Most BMW dealers will NOT replace the cluster if you have the gauge rings. It is strickly a dealer decision. If you have a good relationship with you dealer then you have a better chance. But if they don't know you from Adam then there is a good chance they won't do it for free.
