I will confirm tonight, but I think I used AutoTransport for my Jag from NC to Northern California. Pretty frustrating as they took the vehicle and then let it sit in a lot of theirs for more than a week before being loaded. Then they give it to Stevie Wonder to plot a direct course to California via Michigan, Texas, all over the place. No wonder why they missed the delivery date. Once it got near our house we picked it up and the shop was pretty gross as well.
Surprisingly, the car did arrive is reasonable shape. |

beware of open transport.
My nightmare story.. So I am moving from Miami to Los Angeles. There is me, my gf, and our three cars. (I have a 911 as well.) I decide to find a "reputable" company to ship my GF's car and the Pcar and we drove the X5. This was not a broker but a company with their own long truck. So they pick up the car on a flatbed and away it goes. I get a call a two weeks later, "there has been a problem, the story goes, the retarded driver was loading the vehicles in a parking lot at Home Depot. A terential downpour came and the driver/loader went home to make a poop. When he came back two hours later, 8 cars, including my GF's audi A4, my pcar, two other mercedes and god knows what else had been impounded by a private tow company who was holding the cars hostage. by the way, they also towed the rig !!! So the tow company is trying to blackmail the autotransport company and they want $30,000 to release all the vehicles. So the transport company has to take the tow company to court. I get my cars about six weeks later. blah blah blah.. they were in fine condition but I learned my lesson. Now I will only used an enclosed single to double transport if I am going to send my baby. The only reason I didn't send it enclosed to begin with was because of the fortune I was spending to move to LA.. If you want the name of a husband and wife team that will only transport 1-2 vehicles at a time in an enclosed trailer, let me know and I will give you a name. I will never transport without them again. and the way I know them. When I bought the pcar from Greensboro N. Carolina, they delivered it to me in Miami.. great team they are !! I think the name was G&G out of N. Carolina.. I can look it up. B

My $0.02 is that you must be very, very careful. Most companies you call for car transport are merely brokers. They don't own nor operate the trucks. They just arrange it with some trucker you, and maybe they, don't know anything about. It's a bit of a crapshoot. You can ask them all the questions you want about insurance, bonding, guarantees, etc and they will blow sunshine up your exhaust. I went through the process to ship an M3 to Illinois. I didn't care all that much because I was the seller and so long as the buyer was put in contact with the company and I took about 100 digital pictures are the car was being loaded to cover my butt, I didn't care. There are plenty of horror stories. To add another, a friend bought an E39 Touring from Florida and the company that got it here too forever citing delay after delay. In the end, it got here but there was some issue about the company not paying the driver and the driver demanded that my friend pay or else he wouldn't release the car. It got resolved only because he pulled some juice and had the local cops tell the driver that if he didn't release the car they'd arrest him for auto theft.
I don't have personal experience with this company but I have heard good things. They are enclosed trailers though. Horseless Carriage
