Metal looks stained....

The window sill, (imagine standing and looking at the passenger seat from the outside. the metal part immediately to the left of the window.

for some reason, it has that polarized look - kinda like as if some solvent splashed it? i dunno, but it's annoying. i'll try to take a photo of it.

but it's looks subtle purple. you cant see it if ur not looking for it, but the entire sill is off color. some spots, kinda.

waht could of caused this?

Sounds like it may be discoloration caused by commercial car washes.

Here's a link about it from the Articles Section of X5World.

Hope that helps.

The same thing happened to me last week. It looks like sh*t. I am very upset about it. And do not think i shoujld have to correct it by using a special polish. The dealer should do it but they will not. It is one problem after another with this X5 since i got. I really cant take this crap anymore.

You're welcome. x5Monkey recommends Car Brite Power Pak. I'm not sure where to buy it, or if you can buy it online, but there's a toll-free number and an email address on the Car Brite site, maybe they can hook you up.

Good luck.

Yea does anyone have a fix for this that they actually tried and know first hand if it works or not. I dont want to try things that will not work. Alaso has anyone had the dealer fix this for them or replact the affected trim pieces.
