Metal looks stained....
for some reason, it has that polarized look - kinda like as if some solvent splashed it? i dunno, but it's annoying. i'll try to take a photo of it. but it's looks subtle purple. you cant see it if ur not looking for it, but the entire sill is off color. some spots, kinda. waht could of caused this?

The same thing happened to me last week. It looks like sh*t. I am very upset about it. And do not think i shoujld have to correct it by using a special polish. The dealer should do it but they will not. It is one problem after another with this X5 since i got. I really cant take this crap anymore.

Yea does anyone have a fix for this that they actually tried and know first hand if it works or not. I dont want to try things that will not work. Alaso has anyone had the dealer fix this for them or replact the affected trim pieces.

i had the same thing on my '01, just put a heavy coat of wax on it. trust me.
