Talking New guy checking in

Hellooooooooo everybody. Well I finally did it, went out the other night to "Just look" at the X5 and I ended up bringing it home. I purchased an 04 edit: Estrol blue X5 4.8is with 30K miles and I am loving it. This is my first BMW and I have to say it is a very fun car and it has so many fetures I find myself for the first time reading the owners manual. I do however have a couple of questions concernig TSB's and Recalls, I have made an appointment for this weekend to take it back to the dealer to have all of these issues resolved. Before I take it to the dealer I wanted to run it by all of you to get your comments or sugestions. First off here are the TSB's I have found so far.

TSB's

1. # 07142004
2. # 07122004
3. # 110504
4. # 1220404
5. # 2420205

Recalls

1. # 04V344000
2. # 04V402000
3. # 03V475000
4. # 04V409000

Also is there a way the dealer can program the DRL's? I do not have them on my X5 and would like them if possable.

Thanks for your help and I look forward to getting to know you all, great job on the fourm.

Here are a cople of pics of my ride.

Bulldog, Congrats on your new ride and welcome to
The Board for X info and almost any other topic under
the sun!

When you hit your Stlr, have him "run your key" and
he should be able to tell you/print out your car's
service history and any TSB/Recall work that's been
done.

I'd skip the DRLs: it's a wave of headlights out there
on the highway these days. Not sure it's any benefit
to you and we poor M'cycle riders are "lost" in that
wall of headlights. But, if you gotta have them, only
the Dlr can program them; he may or may not charge
you for that process.

No idea as to what those specific TSBs refer to, but
many TSBs over the E53's life have been issues to
"be advised about" for the dlr as opposed to things or
glitches that have actually happened to each/all/any
of our cars. So, some of those items may apply to your
car and some may not...and, that "history" will explain
what has been done.

Welcome to DaBoard.

Nice looking X5 but the color looks more like Estoril Blue, which would have been a special order color so that would be cool. It's nice! Maybe it was the lighting when you took the pics.

I resisted the DRL's until my wife started driving the X5 and she wanted them. I think they are good idea and most traffic safety studies support their worth.
