HELP! Nokia N95 bluetooth problem

Hi, Newbie here . . so apologies if this is in the wrong place!

I have a 2005 X5 with Nav/TV & Bluetooth, Up to now I have used a Nokia 8800, a Sony W850i both worked fine with the bluetooth BUT . . .

I have just got a Nokia N95 and it will pair with the unit and accept and make calls, provided I enter the number, but wont display text messages or the phonebook entries (displays phonebook empty).

I have called BMW who said . . and I quote "hmm not sure".

I'm guessing theres a compatiblity issue but has anyone else had the same issue and resolved it?

cheers

Mark

It is difficult at first to navigate but after some time, you get used to it.

Hi, All my others handsets showed incoming text messages on the display, you could read em and delete em.

Excuse my stupidity but I dont know what a ULF number is sorry.

The N95 is actually pretty good, battery life isnt that great (charge it every other night) but I have a spare and a car charger so no probs - other than the car issue its a brilliant phone.

There was an issue with Nokia and their version of the Bluetooth phone directory format. ISTR that the BMW's only work with phonebook version 1.1 and Nokia no longer use that version in their phones. The last fully compatible version was the 6310i. My dealer told me that BMW would not be supporting many Nokia phones after the 6310i because of this issue. It's why I had the professional phone kit installed on mine - with all the hassle of putting the sim card in and out but hey it does work

The only phones that we know BMW have tested and therefore are sure work are on this site:

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bluetooth

The N95 is not listed (yet) but it can take BMW more than a year to catch up.

Is there an update on this? I followed the link but it seems to be outdated. On top of that, I own an E46 3 series and the table is only for cars manufactered after 2006. Any help?

I have Nokia N95, but I just found my wife's 6310i so I will be trying it tomorrow...
