Premium versus Sports 4.4i

Just purchased a 2001 X5 4.4i with the sport package.
Before buying this one, I had test driven an 02 with the Premium Package.
Any major differences bewteen the two beside seats and suspension?

It's not an either/or siutation. Your Sport Package X5 probably also has the Premium Package. :welcome:

My guess its the 4-way lumbar support and auto-dimming mirrors.

congrats

sport package adds a glossy window trim and window pillar, the black headliner, the sports steering wheel, and sport wheels. (SIDE NOTE: the wheels that are on your X5 aren't original to the car, just my inclination)

and i am not sure whether you have the premium package because i cannot see a BC button.

Thanks for the info.

The car does mot have a BC button. It does have the DSP for the stereo. I didn't think the wheels look correct. They are 18 inch wheels.
No premium package, as no sunroog either.
But I do have the black headliner.
Is the premium stereo a 6 disc changer or single disc?

I read somewhere that the sports package does not have a speed limiter?
Is the wood trim on the steering wheel a common feature?

Once again thanks for all of the replies.
By the way
Love the car.
I had a 2001 ML 430 and was going to get an ML55.

the premium stereo is still a single disc.

you can add on an option 6 disc magazine changer in the left rear cargo compartment.

with the sport package, the limit is 155mph (i think, at least since the 2003 models). but that is if the car has the proper rated tires. it's 130mph otherwise

and i always wondered about the wood steering wheel, but from my observations, it's on models with sport, and are somewhat optioned out.

Congrats & nice color combo - looks like it's in great shape. Those wheels came standard on the 04 sports package - I have the same one. The 2-tone interior looks great - & I like to wood on the wheel too. Don't know if that was ever standard, but it certainly looks good!

Curious - did you get a warranty with it?

No Warranty

Hello, no warranty.
The dealer wanted to sell me a basic powertrain warranty for 1600.00,
I wa so tired of the lies, that whatever they offered I was saying no to.
The biggest lie was telling me they had to run a credit report to comply with the Patriot act.
Even though I had my own financing.
The car has 73k on it.
2 years ago it was a CPO car at a BMW dealership.
The car rides well and handles well. I read that they are not hard for the DIY.
I will check the CV boots today as that seems to big a big issue.
