scratches on my steering wheel
guys,
how to fix the scratches on my steering wheel! they are increasing and the white color becoming more... the wheel looks dull now  |
short of swapping out the steering wheel all I could think of is paint of some sort. However, I would just swap out the wheel, its a fairly easy DIY and you will be much happier with the result I would think as at least the sport wheel has some sort of rubberized finish on it.

Agreed, just replace the wheel.

thats a very costy suggestion guys!! dont you have something else cheaper ?
|
I am sure just the "soft touch" trim can be replaced. The dealer replaced mine due to a scratch. It was just the black plastic part not the entire wheel.
Anyway, I'm not a bunch of help. I have no part #'s |
Is it on the trim pieces? You can replace those.

Part# 2 on the depiction linked to above is what I usually change for customers, and can easily be a DIY job. If you want to, you can also remove it and remove the paint with a mild solvent safe for the plastic and paint it any color you want. I had one customer with a body kitted X5 that had his paint matched to the body along with the woodgrains... kinda looked bad though.
