![]() After they evaluated my car and came back I am dumbfounded at what they offered on my ride.... They will give me $23K - A big ways away from where I thought it would be. A quick look at recent completed sales on Ebay and Autotrader also had some disappointing news, as sellers there did not do dramatically better. Of course I know all about the economy and the gas crisis from the summer, but crap I got smacked hard. |

Its also trade in value. They're not going to give you much....Sold privately you'd probably be lookin at 27 or 28k at most, or somewhere in that range..

If you plan on keeping a car for three years or less you be better of leasing.
That way you know what you will sell the car for (the residual/buyout value on the lease. |

Today at at a nj dealer auction i saw a 06 4.8is blue 16k miles go for $31,000..

they always make 10 grand
like many other german car owners, however more experience thus far with mercedes, there is always a $10k difference compared to what they will try and retail the car for
currently on autotrader, asking $33k, 34k for same year and close mileage you get the BS on inspecting the car, prepping the car, marketing/advertising costs is their overhead |

ouch - that hurts!
I guess i have to keep my car then .... that's got to be rough! Good news for others who are looking to purchase one though! |

Hold on now. What about the price they are offering the new one at? That negotiation will always play in to what they offer you for the trade. Pay invoice they'll offer you less.....pay MSRP and they may offer you a little more....
