Does anyone of you has the underride guard installed on '04 3.0 X5????
I tried to install it, gave up took it to the mechanic and he just confirmed that it's installation won't be the easiest thing - guard has to be drilled in several places to mach factory holes... etc etc
Did you really had to remove front bumper to support the front of it???
Anyboby has DIY write up for it???? need it bad. Thanks

did you buy this guard from BMW? if so you can request instructions for the install. there are no holes to be drilled. this is a very heavy duty bull bar. it attaches at 6 points to the "frame rails" 4 under the car and 2 at the front of the car. after installing this guard once, i bet i could do it in about 90 min. however my first time took a while as BMW instructions were not very clear.

There are 2 part numbers listed in accessory brochure for underride gaurd:

"x5 with standard front bumper": 51130392164
"x5 with areodynamic kit front bumper": 51130392919

I tried to get price quotes from different dealers and one seemed knowledgable and told me that my 4.6 requires the one for areodynamic kit. Perhaps you guys got the wrong part? Just a thought. Good luck.
