Sprint Booster Throttle Remapper
Does anyone have experience with this? Does it work, is it worth the money? Will it trash my car? :wow:

Thanx, I even searched the forum first but found nothing, anyways this seems to be e70 responses, anyone tried this in the e53?
damn.. i need an avatar.. |
Doesn't depend on which model you install it on. A few have tried it. It doesn't give you more power, which is the usual debate. It can change the feel of the throttle, in terms of throttle pedal responsiveness, similar in concept to what the adaptions do that are designed in to the throttle.

I installed one on my 2002 4.4 on Sat. Definitly worth the money. Makes the X5 much more fun to drive. Having said that, the red setting is a bit much but green works great. I just leave it on green all the time. IMO the X5 should have come from the factory like that. 200 miles on it and no issues.
Super easy installation but haven't decided where to put the wired control button yet. I may just disconnect it since it is supposed to remember the setting. Anyone know if it will remember the setting if the battery dies or is disconnected? |

dont know how it would work on 04-06MY V8 engines, as the throttle isnt even used when accelerating? only for start up, failsafe and to maintain 50mb of engine vacuum.

By modifying the throttle signal from the pedal it *should* affect the valvetronic operation in the same way as throttle would be affected, same signal to the DME used. But I would be curious on that one as well...

Thanx for the responses on this! Pretty confident that it would make a difference after the read! So i have ordered one. I will post some feedback when i get it! :)

Revitalizing an old thread for an update... My sprint booster malfunctioned yesterday. It went full throttle when pulling away from the curb. Luckily there was only one car in front of me and I slammed on the brake and dodged it. Restarted the car a few times, tried turning the booster off, then green then red, but it still went to redline. Then my X5 went into limp mode and I drove back to my parking spot at about 2 mph (limp mode would only allow idle). I remove the booster and all is well. I hope it stays that way.
