For as much as I get my hopes up for an M version, I'm now fully prepared for LeMans to poke his head into the room and say, "Nah, fellas. That's just the turbo 3.0 diesel."

Its a V10 engine but sorry to burst the bubble, its the X6 engine testing in X5.

I assume a higher performance version of the X5 is coming at somepoint? Does anyone know when and/or what?

This is not the first time BMW has done this. They did this with 1-series and more recently for testing next gen X3 engine. BTW, its the new V10, not the one from M5.

Performance version of X5 will hopefully be out in later half of 2008.

I think he's saying its the high performance "is" version of the X5 testing the X6 engine... which doesn't make so much sense... wouldn't the "is" be using the same engine?

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but a few of us have a question since your the guy in the know. Where the heck is the Cig lighter fuse in the e70? There is no legend for the fuses in the front passenger footwell.
