With the X3 growing I'd expect the next X5 to grow also. I'd be surprised if there was room for an X7 above that.

I'd be interested in an X7. Doing a doard trip in the X5 with the twins doesn't leave much room for luggage and extras.

Well, now might be a good time to start R&D and get the ball rolling if the opportuned time to sell such a beast is in a few years... if you wait to design a car until the need is there you miss the ball by the time it comes off the line. On the other hand, you stand the chance to build something that won't sell due to economy if you are wrong on your projections...

I'd be truly thrown off and surprised the most if they decide to build a luxury/performance pickup truck... Against what BMW has been about, but so is lots of what they are doing now. Hybrids, 4x4 forced induction SAV ///M models, future 4cyl FWD models possibly?

While searching for my 2nd BMW (at the time), the biggest reason I chose the 740iL over the X5 3.0/5 is because of the lack of legroom. 4 out of 5 of my best friends are at least 6'2" or taller like myself, so small backseats with a bunch of fatties just doesnt work :D I purchased the X5 I have now just because I want to keep the miles off the other two and usually take one of my trailers with me while taking roadtrips between Reno or Seattle, so I needed an SUV. While I'll never get rid of the 7 because it's practically brand new mechanically, having an X7 with the rear legroom of the iL would be a complete win-win for me.

Don't forget the future turbo 3-cyl. :)

You have twins too eh? It's never a happy time to get more than 2 adults and them... the 3rd adult would have to sit between their car seats. We opted to skip the 3rd row because it's useless for the most part. I admit I got the X5 against better judgment when it comes to space efficiency and already 2 kids. I mean the double stroller takes up half the trunk already and it actually folds in half (the Combi).

It would really depend on how the X7 looks and drives. I don't want a Q7 wagon type. May as well go minivan then.

I'm in the same boat brother, 2 1/2 year old and an 18 month old. I considered getting the thrid row. I went as far as to putting my 2 car seats in the X5 on the showroom floor to see first hand if it was at all possible to access the "third row".. nope.. Then my salesman mentioned that he's seen adults in my situation open the tail gate and climb in that way.. I was like you try telling that to my wife! LMAO! :wow:

Yeap, I'm first in line for a BMW X7 - MB GL equivalent..

Another set of twins here. At 12, they are now way past the booster seats, car seats, strollers etc.. but we seem to be in need of more room than ever before. So we haven't been able to get rid of the minivan. The idea of an X7 is enticing but I don't think I would buy a BMW that big. For me, the X5 is just about the right size.
