Are there going to be any problems with water entering into the holes you drilled and sitting inside the factory compartment? Just a thought... Or did you seal those little plastic rivits somehow?

Curtis.

Hey guys, I just called the ebay seller since they are local to Los Angeles and the guy said they will be getting some more of the X5 running boards next month.

I guess people have been buying them. Maybe if you guys all call, they will give us a group buy, you think?

no kidding ezdozzit...it seems that the one you got is the only one that has the X5 logo etched on the running boards. i've looked around and believe me when i say that...i do look almost all day on ebay for x5 stuff and the one you got is the only one with the logo on it.

good buy!

Curtis, I never did get back to you. To answer your question, not I didn't use any sealer for the rivets. They're super tight in the hole I made using a tinsel (did not drill). The rivet's center pin was hammered in so it's also very snug. The rivet's cap completely covers the pre-drilled hole on the board. So the chances of water getting in should be minimal if any. However, if water was to somehow filter in, it would just drain out further back where the factory plastic running board meets the fender flare.

I found the importer... here is the deal for a group buy...

The importer emailed that he can get the running boards with the X5 itched into them... read thru the tread to see what they look like...

One unit is $365 shipped anywhere in the US from Taiwan and if we buy 10 they will drop the unit price delivered to $330. Seems like an ok decent deal but not much of a discount...
I only want to pay the lower price, who else wants in on the group buy? ... this is the time to act. The importer told me that two of our brethern were also gathering us for a group buy but I have not seen any messages of the kind. If whoever the two of you are can strike a better deal, post it otherwise my suggestion is send me a PM so to accumulate the group for the discount, then I will inform the importer of the list of the group buying them and you can do your own direct payment to the importer.
I am going to buy a set either way but it would be nice to save the $35 bucks.

I will also post in the Group Buy section of our board.
