X5 4.6is gives a ride to F10 M5

According to Motor Trend report X5 4.6is was caught pulling a F10 M5 on a trailer at Nurburgring. Not sure what happen to the M5 that it has to be towed.

The new M5 is supposed to have modified 4.4L twin turbo engine from X5 M with lighter parts and more hp than the X5 M.

Too bad it won't sound that great, compared to the V10. That said, I'll still be getting one. Hahahaha!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
You see, what had happened was... BMW and Mercedes were talking trash with eachother and BMW said "Oh yeah? I bet our 8 year old SAV would beat yours WHILE pulling our current fastest car on a trailer!"

They may be just trying to set a new lap towing record Nice to see BMW techs and engineers still using an E53 rather than an E70.

That's pretty awesome that BMW still uses the 4.6is for those jobs. It's a real testament to the engineering in that X5

Agreed. I took my moms 4.6is to get inspected and the guys thought it was a 2008. Haha, these cars are great!

It almost was. A friend of a friend bought an early '02 and received a letter from BMWNA that said, "Congratulations on your new XM5". No joke, they were that close to branding it an M. Still pisses me off to this day because it deserves it. On the positive side though, insurance is cheaper and you attract WAY less unwanted attention without an M badge.
