ghost in the machine?

interesting electical issues with my 2010 35d... recently the last few weeks i've been walking to my car and all my windows and down, doors unlocked... I'm absolutely sure that i'm not pressing the key to bring the windows down because i live in a high rise and my apartment is on the 22nd floor and the car is parked on the 3rd floor... there's no way the signal can get through 19 floors of concrete and steel. this also started happening at the same time i'm getting "increased battery discharge" warnings and random warnings about right passenger door open while driving.... anyone else see these before? im hessitant to bring it in because i'm sure my SA is just gonna say they can't reproduce it or find anything wrong... thanks

When I see this windows down problem it usually ends up being the drivers door latch assembly, on any model. That's the only other thing that puts the windows down is the key in the latch turned to unlock and held and we think water/corrosion may be getting in the lock on some of these causing the feature to be activated.

As for the increased battery discharge message, that is an E70 problem in general and from what AI understand there is a programming fix for it that changed the charging parameters for the alternator.

Passengers front door open message may be the latch as well.

W-

Great insights... Is this a 'comfort access only' issue?

As I recall back, all the reports have be with this feature...usually in conjunction with rain/water (and disasterous consequences)

Thx

While it is more common with comfort access, especially with washing your car with keys in your pocket... it can and does still happen sometimes without comfort access.
