Centerbore question

HI;

I'm a noobie here. I had read that X5 wheels do not fit on X3's, because the center bore is different. (74.1 vs 72.51) Does this real matter in real life?

E53 rims have a center bore of 72.51 and the E70 rims have a center bore of 74.1. The E53 rims will fit just fine (may have a different offset), and the E70 rims will fit but you should use hub centric rings to keep them properly centered.

E53 X5 to E83 X3 should fit fine. Need hub centric rings for E70 on E83 X3.

Hi All,

I need to purchase to Hub centric rings for my aftermarket 20's but need guidance. On here I read that E53 rims have a center bore of 72.51, is that all E53's? I have a 2006 3.0i.

The after market 20's I purchased came with a set of rims but the seller tells me the measurements on my X5 are 72.56mm.

Because of the difference in sizes from what I read here and what he tells me, should I resume I have the wrong hub rings?

I get shakes when I hit about 55mph.

Thanks

E53 hub bore size is: 72.56. E70 bore is 74.1...

if those wheels you are ref'ing are indeed 72.56, they are
same as oe, and your '06 has the same hub bore as any E53.
If the wheels in discussion are oe E53 bore/72.56, why is seller
suggesting you need/want rings at all?

The dreaded 50-65 mph shimmy is usuall wheel balance, in my experience.
And/or, an eccentric wheel...

The seller sent me 4 hub rings and in his reply mentioned that my X5 was 72.56mm. I am not sure what the size of the after market rims are and if the rings he sent are correct. The rims I purchased are Borbet 20inch.

my question is...when i purchase a new set of hub rings, what do i need to know, my vehicles diameter and my rims diameter, or just my vehicle.

Do all 20 inch after market rims use the same set of hub rings.

Thanks
