Unhappy Poor Smashed X

Can anyone tell me how to upload photo's that are just under 500kb?

My friend has his mates black 2005 X5 diesel sport with 6k on it in his back yard after he had an accident and destroyed it. You just have to see it, it was a multi roll over and how the driver walked away is a testament to the design, build and safety of an X. Even with panoramic sun roof.

The impact was so hard it ripped the right rear wheel off, split the disc so that the hub is still bolted to the wheel but the disc is still in its position in the caliper.

Not one panel has escaped damage.

But most amazing is the doors still open and shut like the day it rolled off the lot!!!!!!

IT IS UNBELEVIABLE. There are 9 photos

Cheers Matt

I'm glad your buddy is alright. It's the most important thing at the moment. Use this free prgram to resize your pics. I want to see this!

Red face

I will try the program in a minute. He actually was thrown out through the sunroof. And when he came too the X was on its roof 30m away upside down AND STILL GOING (the 3 wheels left where turning). He had to crawl to it to turn it off!

He fractured his sterum, collarbone and left arm. Plus bad gravel rash evrywhere else. Otherwise OK.

He also placed an order for a new one the next day (yesterday).

Cheers Matt

Unhappy

The pics look trrible now I have shrunk them. In the originals it was like you were standing next to it. ALtough the photos (small ones) don't show it the car is covered in gravel rash

If anyone knows of a way to upload the larger file then let me know.

Cheers Matt

My mate, where the X is at, is salesman at my stealer. He used to be my teacher when I was a mechanic. We had a good look at it and there is no use repairing it, the damage is MASSIVE. Nothing can be saved other than elec seats, R doors internals, L doors airbags, dash (some of it)/cluster, engine, transmission and front diff. Oh and steering wheel and airbag (he wasn't wearing his seat belt. Few other bits, anyone need some parts.

That seems like one hard accident, I am glad the driver walked away without injuries. Now I know why more and more people trust the BMW brand, they are safe and reliable vehicles.

That's quite a bit of damage. I can't believe that the doors are still functional. I think that your buddy was lucky that he got thrown out. It looks like the windshield and the first horizontal bar collapsed quite a bit. By the way, where is the glass from the panoramic roof?

use photobucket it's the best for hosting pics will resize for you. We need bigger pictures.

How did the smash happen and why was he not wearing his seat belt.

Glas he is ok though good to see the X holding up under what sounds like a extreme smash.
