My sirius satellite module was in that area... as was the rear suspension air control module. Maybe one of those?

For sure it is not for air suspension. Is it possible that it is part of phone installation?

If the harness was bundled but not used...it usually has a sticker wrapped with it that should have the BMW part nbr. Can you see a label/sticker wrapped with the bundled wires?
You give no model/model year info...and don't say why the one suggestion is incorrect. But depending on build date & level of option pkg...the PDC, EHC, & trailer harness would be in that location next to the battery & radio (for Nav setup).

In some models (diesels mainly) there's a remote receiver for the Aux. Heater (Webasto) back here too... and uses a 6-pin connector - not sure it looks like that though.

My E53 is 4.4i, production date 2000-09-07.
I'm almost sure that this connector is not for air suspension cause I've got NIVO suspension and it's fully working so nothing is missing ![]() Unfortunately there is no any sticker. I'm asking about this connector because I'm retrofitting bluetooth and I'm facing no call sound issue. I've tracked sound signal (NF) wire from ULF module and it leads to this plug. I'm wondering if there is something missing there and that's why I'm asking ![]() Is it possible that webasto remote receiver is triggered by phone signal from ULF module? |

I have no BT in my 2005 either and would like to retrofit the ULF etc. I'll look into the wiring a little deeper and see what I can find.

Confirmed - the connector appears to be X18830 - used for the Telestart receiver for the independent auxiliary heater (Module A128).
![]() The pin connector (X18830) looks like yours up until 09/02, then it was changed to an inline 6-pin. Until 09/02... ![]() From 09/02... ![]() To be 100% sure, you can check you have +12v on pin #4, ground (chassis) on pin #6, and the voltage disappears when you pull fuse #86 in the trunk panel. (These pin numbers are for the pre-09/02 connector - the pins are +12v on pin #1 and ground on pin #6 on the post-09/02 cars). Doesn't help your BT issue but it removes this connector from the equation.

What wire colour are you tracing to this plug? I find can't any connection between the ULF module and the Telestart Rx. The Telestart Rx. is not connected to the K-Bus - it only has power in, a switched 12v output (and an antenna). Have you verified a connection with a multi-meter or visually?

I've verified with multimiter, black-brown cable from X400 plug goes to this 6-pin connector. There are three pins in use in this plug - black-brown, green-white and red-black wire.
