ibright angel eyes VS umnitza

Still deciding which ones to get:
ibright $350 siple install according to their site, why so expensive since its only supposevely rings and wire harness?
umnitza sells similar kit for $149
what are current pros and cons of both products (I know people were complaining about ibright sometimes flickers when they start the car, was this problem resolved?

thanks,

Alex

Per Dave, angelibright still have no solution on the blinking issue except if the ibright blinks on both side.

In my case, the ibright blinks only on the driver side which has no solution yet.

Here's a link to a recent thread on the M5board contrasting the differences between AngeliBright, Umnitza, and CCFL kits.

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=69480

I own an '02 X5, so I can't use the AngeliBright kit. It certainly offers plug and play convenience, but then again, the AngeliBright kit consists of a new bulb providing light to your original OEM light rings whereas Umnitza and other kits are complete light source and light ring replacements. This article also states that the Angelibright kit is not as bright as CCFL kits.

So essentially, the only real benefit of the AngeliBright kit is the convenient installation. It's almost brain dead simple vs the much more complicated install of a CCFL kit.

According to the Angelibright FAQ (http://www.angelibright.com/?page=faq),

Q: I have an e60 or X5, and when I turn the key to a certain position the Angel Eyes blink, is this normal?
A: Yes, it is perfectly normal, and safe. It has to do with the way the BMW computer feeds electricity to the headlights during a certain key position.

The question I have to ask is if the OEM angel eyes as supplied by BMW do not blink when the ignition key is set in a certain position, why is this considered "perfectly normal" for the Angelibright product?

Since when they added that statement to the FAQ?

The OEM AE never blinks like the angelibright does and that considers "perfectly normal"?
Besides, Dave mentioned that they had a fix for ibrights blink on both sides. Since it's "perfectly normal", why there is a fix for it?

This is getting no where...

The blinking issue on both sides is rare, but it has to do with the microprocessor in the ballast convincing the LCU in the car not to throw an error message on the dash. Certain cars can use a different ballast so that this blinking wont happen.

I attatched a picture of the iBright that a customer just sent us today, I have to say that its an amazing photograph! He is in Australia.

Dave, cut the bs short... my patient is running out. It had been more then 2 months for your research on the blinking issue.

Just tell me if there is a solution to stop the blinking (in my case) or NOT, so I don’t have to waste the time on this issue and waiting for your reply.

Simple as a Yes or No will do...

Thanks.

There is no BS. Since this is the only case where it is blinking on one side, it is a single issue. We are continuing to attempt to replicate the issue, and ofcourse will reply to you when we find anything out.

No hard feelings please.

Dave,
It's not the only case...mine does the same and i think there is another member besides blackpig that has the issue. The way I found out was I turned on the car and saw the iBright on the driver's side blinking in the reflection from a black car in front of me. Maybe we're the only cases, but I'm sure if people checked to see if their iBrights did that, more people would come forward. The blinking is not bright enough to where you will see it light up the wall in the garage. You also said that you were going to send me a fix, but I have yet to get it in the mail. Also, I mentioned in an email to you about flickering with the iBrights, but you never addressed it. It happens with the engine on and in park. I don't know if it happens when you're in gear. That's actually an issue I'm more concerned with as the blinking is momentary while I'm sure the flickering happens during driving as well.

Why no hard feeling? We both knew I am not the the only case and the reason you keep saying that to the public is?
There are couple more members I know are having the same issue.
