But since my cd changer is a MP3 player, who needs an Ipod connection correct? I currently use 2 cds with about 200 songs on each, so much for a 6 cd changer lol
Probably because of the connection. You are more than likey using the headphone jack as an audio output - this was meant to drive a set of headphones.

The correct way is to get a low level signal from the dock connector of the iPod, like the DICE does. There are a couple of cables on the market that allow this if you are still keep on keeping the AUX connection and not going the DICE route.

We have one of the cables on our site:

That is a nice little cable. Does it allow the ipod to charge when it is connected?

thanks,

John

Unfortunately, it does not. This will rely on battery power.

Bozo,
Get a spare iPod doc and use the line out from the dock, the sound level will be same when switching between aux, radio,cd. The 3.5" plug on top of iPods is for ear plugs. Did this for my wife's 2006 3 series works great.

Not a dumb question, at all. It is an accessory that can be installed. Relatively easy DIY, or pay a few bucks to the dealer to do it for you. Here on xoutpost.com in the Articles section are write-ups telling more about it.

check this one out from belkin...it allows you to charge in the car and has a 3.5mm audio output.

EDIT: it says you need the fm transmitter, but maybe it will work if you use the male-male cable to the aux input

I just picked up an 02 4.4i with Nav and the CD changer. Where can I find this AUX input and how do I access it via the Screen? Thanks!
