From what I've read.. reverse problems are the first signs of a transmission going bye bye.

However, the fluid thing doesn't sound so bad. I'd go all out and change the fluid and filter.

Start saving for a new transmission.

As others said, cross your fingers and pray it is low on fluid. After that.....grab your check book.

What was the outcome of your problem? Did you just need to top up the fluid? I am having the same trouble!

Like others have said, check the fluid level. Otherwise, a failed reverse and/or slippage is usually the first sign of a failing gearbox. Reach for that checkbook.........

I put some lucas transmission treatment in it, bought at advance auto parts for around 7 bucks, and it helped a lot but instead of just reving it will back up but shimmies pretty bad. I was still able to buy an extended warranty so I did. It actually does good unless its on a big slope so I just try to avoid those situations. If you want to try this let me know and I will tell you how to put it in, its kind of pain but worth it.
